Implementation tasks completed

[The following Op-Ed letter is from Bob Wentworth, who has had a close-up view of CNVC’s organisational change efforts since 2012, having served as a CNVC Board member and co-architect of Process for a New Future, a facilitator of much of the process, and a volunteer supporting the Implementation Phase. This letter reflects his personal views of recent events. This particular message was a response to a question posed in the CNVC Board’s letter of August 10, 2018.]

It may be helpful to those in our network who are concerned about money being paid out, to hear from the Implementation Council about what was produced from their efforts.  However, the Board did not consider this as a condition for making the payments.
I am aware of the following accomplishments resulting from the efforts of the Implementation Council:
  1. The on-boarding process for new Transitional Partners was designed, and is ready to be staged for testing on an initial trial basis.
  2. A new “Pre-Virtual Home” website (https://nvc-global.net) was developed.
  3. A community “membership” process was designed and implemented. To date, 238 Members from 42 countries have joined.
  4. guide was developed for those organizing Recognised Role Weaves.
  5. A variety of weaves were set up to support implementation. A number of pilot community weaves have also been registered.
  6. A series of bulletins was written to make key aspects of the NF Plan more understandable to the community.
  7. A Conflict Transformation Weave was formed, and a series of educational events related to conflict transformation were offered.
  8. The concept of “Contributors” was formalized, to make participation in the organization more accessible, by offering an intermediate step between being a community Member and being a Partner. This offers a mechanism for people to volunteer their talents to support CNVC.
  9. A Contributor orientation process was developed, and is ready to be piloted.
  10. An initial curriculum on power, access and inclusion was developed, to support new Partners in being better able to care for the needs of those who are marginalized, and is ready to be tested.
  11. Conversations were held with Assessors and with the IIT Resources Team, to set the stage for integrating the work of these groups into new ways of doing things.
  12. Several new Board members were identified, to address the NF Plan’s call for the selection of a new CNVC Board.

(These are only the accomplishments that I personally know about. I am not on the Implementation Council, but have tracked much of their progress.)

These accomplishments include the most foundational elements for implementing the New Future Plan.

As a result of these significant tasks having been completed, I see completing the core implementation of the New Future Plan within around a year as now do-able, given a supportive environment and a re-energized Implementation Council. I believe instituting the new governance model could be achieved in even less time.(Some additional transition time will likely be needed first, to restore the implementation process to full speed.)

Respectfully,
Bob Wentworth
